Sophia: Mount Dora Christian Academy

If I listed all the things that Sophia is involved in, or lends her talents to, we would probably be here all day! Talk about one amazing girl! She is an upcoming graduate at Mount Dora Christian Academy, and she has loved growing and learning as a person during her time there. “During my high school years, I learned a lot about myself as a person,” she adds, “I also learned what I value most in life, and what is most important.” This bright and lovely young lady really lives out some of the values that she holds dear by raising money for cancer awareness; this is something she started when someone close to her was diagnosed with breast cancer. She also worked to collect toys for disadvantaged children, as well as families who have ill family members at the Ronald McDonald House in Orlando. On top of her charitable work, dance takes up a large portion of her time and passion, and she has been a classical ballet dancer for over 14 years. “In my spare time, which I don’t have much of, I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family and friends,” she adds, “I also love to go to the lake, go water skiing, and shopping.”

Sophia’s friend Channing referred her to me, and as soon as I got to know this sweet girl, I knew we would hit it off. She has awesome style, and favors ruffles and floral dresses, as well as anything that is trendy and girly, like Golden Goose sneakers. Zara and Brandy Melville are two of her favorite stores. As we worked together to plan her session and design something that would show off her personality, she wanted to focus on lighting and architectural details. Since I often scout locations throughout the days I am not shooting, I was able to find the perfect spot to showcase her ambitious and kind personality.

After graduation, she hopes to travel to Hawaii, ride a hot air balloon, and see the Northern lights. Her biggest accomplishment to date is getting into Vanderbilt, which has been her dream school, and why she has worked so hard for all four years. I am so, so proud of her achievements, and will be cheering her on in her endeavors.
