Ava | Hagerty High School

Sometimes our biggest fear fuels us to do amazing things! I always talk to seniors who are really nervous about doing their senior shoot, because they feel like they will look overly edited, awkwardly posed, or insecure. I completely understand where these fears come from, because I think we have all felt that way at some time in our lives. I encourage any senior who feels like a senior shoot may be challenging, to come to me with questions and concerns so we can troubleshoot together. Here are a few suggestions if you are worried about looking awkward in your session:

-Use Pinterest or Instagram to build a library or collection of poses that you love! Bring them to your consultation so I can see what you love. You can even practice some of them in the mirror to see if you like the way they look.

-Look through my portfolio of senior images and see if anything strikes you as one youโ€™d like to include in your session. Let me know if thereโ€™s anything you absolutely donโ€™t want, so I know what your personal taste is.

-Remember that even if you feel awkward, usually you look more confident than you may feel. Many times, images come out looking beautiful and clients canโ€™t believe the end result. Trust the process!

Sweet Ava looked like a total natural for her session. She is a Hagerty High School graduate (Class of 2022), who will be attending Quinnipiac University this fall. She is bright, funny, and beautiful! She also loves the beach, skiing in the snow, spending time with her dog, and going on vacation to Cape Cod with her family. I sure loved spending the day together, and these beautiful images (and those gorgeous shades of blue with the sunlight!) came out just how I imagined.
