The sun was just right for this session, and I couldn’t have been happier! That warm light illuminated Katie’s beautiful smile, and brought out the beautiful color of her hair. Katie was one of my 2022 graduates, and is now attending Grand Canyon University where she has earned a volleyball scholarship. Katie also has been part of the GCU Honors College. She has a very sweet personality and is a talented athlete who knows the value of hard work. we found these beautiful waterside locations for her session, and I could have stayed all day enjoying her company!
One of the things you’ve probably noticed with this session is how beautiful Katie’s hair is. It is truly showstopping, with the gorgeous highlights and curls. While we are talking about hair, I want to share some things that you can do to keep your hair healthy before your session:
Don’t bleach or dye it in a new way before your session. Be sure you give your hair some time before your shoot if you are doing a more drastic treatment or coloring that you’ve never tried before. We recommend at least a week prior to your session so that you can be sure the color and style are perfect before your shoot.
Keep it clean and use the least amount of heat before your session: We recommend using a hair mask and minimizing heat treatment before your shoot, to prevent as much frizziness as possible. Hair oils and serums can be a great help in keeping your flyaways tamed.
Have a friend test-shoot any more daring hairstyles: If you are planning to have your hair professionally done or trying a new style, we recommend having a friend photograph you with their phone from multiple angles so you can be sure you love it or see any potential pitfalls with a style before your senior shoot.
If you have any additional concerns about styling your hair, please let us know. We are happy to answer questions you may have.
