“Who, what, when, where”…remember learning those questions in grade school? They were always taught as a way to interview someone, or find out more, but some teacher left off the most important one: Why? This is one I ask so often to the seniors I get to work with…why that college? Why that major? Why did you choose me as your senior photographer? These questions help me understand what they want for their senior photos, and who they are as a person. For Ashley, her “why” always centered on her desire to help others with her life, and how to make the most of her days. Ashley is a recent Class of 2021 graduate from Plant City High School, and she stayed extremely busy with her work in Youth Alive, Raider Buddies, and the National Honor Society. “Although I didn’t work a traditional job in high school, I volunteered for Camp Invention, VBS at our church, and a sports and arts camp”, explained Ashley, “I also work closely with our community to help with the Special Olympics. I am passionate about working with children and persons with special needs, and I enjoy every second of it!”. In any spare time she manages to find, she enjoys grabbing coffee with friends, playing the piano, and laughingly admits, “I probably am on Tik Tok too much!”
“When I was deciding on colleges, I applied to the University of Central Florida, and visited a friend who was attending there. I fell in love with the campus the second I saw it”, she shared, “I love their Psychology program. I hope to major in Clinical Psychology, and then go on to get my master’s degree. I am not sure what I will end up doing in the future, but I want to work with teenagers”. This outgoing, and assertive young lady said one of the most important lessons she’s learned in high school has been that she’s capable of doing even more than she has imagined, and is proud that she was ranked top ten in her graduating class. Planning her senior shoot was pretty special, and I knew she would want something with unique architectural details, and some greenery. Her navy dress was perfect, with a gorgeous trumpet skirt and shimmering accents. Ashley was classy, elegant, and wonderful to work with! Enjoy her senior images!
