“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson
Those little seeds of hard work, the moments of perseverance, and the times when you wanted to give up and didn’t…those are the seeds that you plant in high school. Now, when I see the graduating seniors I get to work with, I see the products of those little seeds: blossoms of fruitfulness, success, and accomplishments beyond what they could have dreamed on the first day of freshman year. Miss Sofia has been planting those seeds for the last four years at Bishop Moore Catholic High School, and now she is getting to reap the amazing harvest of her hard work. She was part of the National Honor Society (for Spanish, history, English, and science), and was president of the Best Buddies club, which helps students with special needs thrive with their peers. “I don’t have much spare time, but I do love to shop, hang out with friends and family, and travel”, she explained, “My time volunteering with the Best Buddies program is especially meaningful to me, because I have a special bond with those students”. Sofia also works at Tugboat and the Bird, a local retail store.
“I plan to major in biochemistry at college, and I want to become a doctor, because I love helping people and find the field fascinating”, she continued, “I hope to attend the University of Georgia; I fell in love with the school.” Sofia is funny and caring, and her friends describe her as lovable, intelligent and goofy. When her friends referred her to me, I knew we would hit it off immediately, and I was right! This stylish, fun young lady has incredible style, and she says some of her favorite trends are ruffles, high-neck tops, and jeans. “I love good old southern style”, she shared, “with ruffles and lots of color, but I also love a good natural and regular jeans”. Some of her favorite influencers are Champagne and Chanel, and her current favorite obsession is her new Loveshackfancy dress. “When I shop, I love Zara, and occasionally, I find a treasure at Forever 21 or Marshalls”, she added. Although she requested some help with posing, when she arrived, it was clear she didn’t need it! She was a total natural in front of the camera, and I really enjoyed getting to know her during our time together.
Congratulations, Sofia!
