Headstrong. While some might think of this term as a negative trait, I think it can be a wonderfully positive one. It takes someone who’s headstrong to be themselves, because there are going to be a lot of people that want you look/act/feel how they want you to. So when I see someone that’s headstrong, I love it. Macy is headstrong in the best of ways, and I loved to capture it in her senior session!
Macy is graduating from Lake Mary High School, and is University of Florida hopeful when the time comes. She’s been very active in her school, in the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, and the Golden Fleece Fraternity. However, the activity that she spends the most time doing, and the one that she loves most of all would be volleyball. Not only is she on the travel volleyball team, volleyball is her hobby, and in her spare time you can either find her spending time with her friends and family, or playing volleyball. She loves the camaraderie that comes from the sport, and sports in general, as some of her favorite high school memories were made during football games.
For her session, we wanted to mix a bit of urban and nature together, so we visited some of the local architecture and their lovely landscaped areas for our location. I loved the outfits that Macy chose for her session; the floral, blue blouse complimented her gorgeous wavy brown hair perfectly, and her accessories looked like they were made just for her. Her pink dress, dotted with thousands of white flowers, was the perfect choice to up the cute factor even further. As we wandered the location, I caught myself admiring how organized the landscaping was. This love of organization is shared by both me and Macy’s mom, who is one of the people that Macy looks up to: “My mom always makes sure everything is in line and organized. She is always there to help me in any way that she can, whether it be for school, volleyball, or advice. She’s the one that keeps me going – I hope to be just half of the amazing mother that she is one day!”
We ended the session at the dock, with the sun setting over the horizon. The warm glow of the last rays of sunlight acted as the perfect back lighting, but Macy’s lovely smile shone even brighter. I love the atmosphere that the string lights gave the sunset pictures, as it added a sense of whimsy and fun to the session. Speaking of fun, capturing this girl’s personality in her session was a joy, and I loved hearing about the things that she loves, and the lessons that she’s learned. “I learned that no matter what anyone else says, I can do whatever my heart desires, and that nothing can stop me from doing what I love.” What a wonderful lesson to learn at such a young age! I know this headstrong attitude will take you far in life, Macy!
Congratulations! I can’t wait to see where the good head on your shoulders takes you, Macy!
