It’s always such a treat to have a family ask me to do senior photos for a second graduate. I met Logan’s family when his sister graduated and they booked me for her senior portraits in 2017. We had such a beautiful time together celebrating her accomplishments, and Logan was as delightful…their family should be incredibly thankful and proud of both of them. Logan is going to be graduating in May from Lake Brantley High School, where he is incredibly active and involved. He is a talented lacrosse athlete, and his entire family is very musically inclined; he plays the trumpet, and is part of the school’s marching band. Because it’s such a big part of his life, he wanted to include the trumpet, which was a fun and unique challenge for me to enjoy. His mom (who I just love) adds about her son, “Logan is very sporty and outdoorsy. He dresses in preppy styles, but he loves to shoot his bow, guns, and play Lacrosse. He has a great personality, and is always smiling and loves to laugh. Most importantly, he is easygoing and fun, and has a heart of gold.” He’s also the proud owner of the truck in the photos (an F150), so we included that as well.
His preppy style was one of my favorite parts of this shoot, because he dresses so well and is such a handsome young man. His button-down shirts and blazer were pressed and steamed perfectly, and they were so much fun to style against our backdrops. For the guy’s sessions that I do, I aim for clean lines and strong colors in my locations, along with interesting textures. The way the paint is on a wall, or the texture added to a set of stairs or railings can make all the difference in a session. While my approach to every senior session is the same (to capture the real you!), the locations, styling, and posing is of course, different for my senior girl and senior guy clients. I try to listen to each client and their parents to determine and design a session where you are the true star! Our guy’s sessions last about 1.5-2 hours, and about 2-3 weeks after your shoot, you will enjoy a premier ordering session in the comfort of your own home! It doesn’t get much easier than that, even for the clients who don’t love having their portraits taken.
