This family is obviously stunning, but more importantly, they are the most beautiful people on the inside as well. Each member of this family feels committed to making a difference in the lives of the people around them and they are dedicated to their community. I feel so honored to have been their family photographer, and the Powells were a delight to work with. Meet Scott, Candi, Taylor, and Will, all hailing from Winter Park in Florida. Scott is a founding shareholder at his Winter Park law firm, and mom Candi is active as a fifth grade teaching assistant at a local school. Their children, ages sixteen and thirteen, were incredibly well-spoken and articulate young people, and had plenty of smiles on the day of our session. This family is very closely-knit, and they enjoy any outdoor activities (mom also loves yoga, and the kids play soccer and lacrosse). When Scott and Candi get a date night together, they love eating at local restaurant Cocina 214, which specializes in upscale Tex-Mex cuisine…yum! Scott and Will spend most of their weekends traveling for sports, and Taylor also enjoys taking art classes, something she’s been passionate about since she was in kindergarten.
Scott and Candi met when they were just twelve, and started dating when they reached college. They both went to high school in Winter Park, and love that they are now raising children where they themselves grew up. “In today’s busy, transient world, it’s rare to go to the same high school that your parents did”, explains Candi, “Our favorite part of our neighborhood is our location. We can walk to Park Avenue, and our church and school are less than a mile away…We have everything we need right here.” For their session, I wanted to capture their bright personalities with vivid colors of the Florida landscape, and I loved the color palette of cool teal and classic navy that they chose to wear.
