As a parent, you see all the milestones differently than when you are growing up. You begin to really cherish and appreciate how fast life moves when you are a parent, and how much you wish you had slowed down to savor it all! My kids are older now but I remember when I first thought that they seemed like they were adults, all the sudden. In latin culture, the bridge from childhood to adulthood is actually marked by a very special event called a quinceañera. It marks that transition on a young lady’s fifteenth birthday, and is a big celebration that brings the family together. Olivia recently celebrated this amazing moment in her life, and we did a session together. She is currently attending Boone High School, and will be part of the Class of 2025. I am eagerly looking forward to hopefully having her on my spokesmodel team in the years to come, and getting to reunite with her for her senior photos!
For this shoot, I chose really elegant locations that suited her incredible dress. The dress is a central feature of many quinceañera celebrations, and Olivia’s was no exception. It featured cascades of teal ruffles, and an intricate beaded bodice, and she finished the look with the perfect sparkling tiara. She also included a more simple, everyday outfit of a blouse and shorts, so she got two different looks. I enjoyed this change of pace and hope to offer many more of these shoots in the future.
