When I asked this spunky, beautiful girl to describe herself, she laughed, “I’m opinionated, fun when you get to know me, and stubborn, so good luck!” Our time together flew by way too fast, and I enjoyed getting to know the many positive aspects of this amazing young lady. She is a recent graduate from Lyman High School, where she was active in cheer, weightlifting (she earned the title of 8th place in the state), dance, and the National Honor Society. She was also in the engineering magnet program, and Skills USA. “I also volunteer with the Longwood Baptist Church as a junior counselor during their summer camps”, she adds, “I love my volunteer work at other places, like Legendary Athletics, school sports and 5K fundraisers”. In any spare time she can find, she loves dance ,working on her car, and spending time with family. “My favorite high school memory was cheering at my senior night”, she shared, “Lyman had a football game, and my father got to cheer with me on the sidelines with pom-poms of his own! It was a great experience that I will never forget”. Although she hasn’t chosen a major yet, she hopes to pursue a career in medical or engineering, and has received a full-ride scholarship to Seminole State College.
Her mom referred her to my photography after I had been lucky enough to do her sister’s senior shoot, and they were both excited for an second awesome senior session. “My mom is someone I really look up to”, she explained, “She didn’t grow up with many advantages, but she always sacrifices to make my sister and I happy. She has given us so much love and opportunity, and she’s the best mom a girl could ask for…how did I get so lucky?” Ava is such a wonderful, caring young person, and she brings joy to just about everything she does. I loved working with her family a second time, and hope they will return to me for whatever milestone may be next!
