The people we look up to and admire in life often shape who we become. For this gorgeous graduate, that person is her mom. As a mother myself, it always makes me tear up a little when my senior clients share what makes their parent or parents their hero. “My mom is one of the people I look up to the most”, shares Liz, “She had to work so hard to get to where she is today, and it is very inspiring to me. She has an amazing work ethic, and all the things she has done for me really makes me want to be a hard worker and successful in my life.” This sweet girl certainly inherited many wonderful traits from her mom, including her love of learning (mom is an engineer). Liz has earned a spot on the National Honor Society roster, and says her favorite subjects are math and science. She’s also in honors Anatomy and Physiology. “I love learning about the human body”, she adds, “I am thinking of entering the medical field when I am older. Since both of my parents are engineers, and my brother as well, I am also interested in biomedical engineering. It’s in my blood!”
Liz is graduating from Trinity Preparatory School in the summer, and she’s really enjoyed her years there. She was on the lacrosse team for six years at the school, and played club lacrosse outside of the school. She made the Orlando National Lacrosse Team last year, and spent a lot of her spare time as the vice president of the Surfriders Club at the school. That club works to improve the appearance and health of our beaches here in Florida, by picking up trash and debris. Volunteer work is also very important to her, and she enjoys spending her summers working with children at youth camps. She has so many wonderful memories from the last few years, but one of the best ones was making it onto the homecoming court! She says, “I was terrified to be in front of the huge crowd, but I really had so much fun. All of my friends were so supportive of me, and I realized it was an experience most high school students don’t have.”
When she graduates, Liz plans to attend college, and is still deciding on several options, including UF and UNC Chapel Hill. She cites the competitiveness and rigorous academics as reasons she wants to attend college, and I know she will do amazing wherever she ends up. Her senior session was very special to her, because it marked so much hard work. She has been a straight-A student all the way through her high school years, and that sort of effort deserves quite a celebration! Liz planned out her outfits and came prepared to have a great time. Several of her friends had used me for their senior shoots, and she was familiar with what to expect and how the process worked. We tailored the shoot to suit her very cute style, which she describes as “conservative, but trendy and unique”. Although photos were a bit out of her comfort zone, she was incredible to work with, and the camera loved her!
