What a giving soul…Sarah is a bright and kind light in a world that needs it! I absolutely could have spent even more time with her, and didn’t want our day to end. She is a 2020 graduate from Lake Nona High School, where she managed to balance rigorous academics and achievements with a bustling social life! She was part of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Interact Club. She also was active in the Lake Nona singers, and on the Varsity Tennis Team! Her list of achievements is lengthy and impressive, but she truly finds the most joy in her charity work. During her time in high school, she volunteered over 100 hours with Heavenly Hooves at the McCormick Research Institute, where she provided equine therapy to children with physical or mental challenges. “I enjoyed being a part of this fantastic organization”, she adds, “because it was so rewarding watching the children gain confidence, and to provide them and their families with something that improves their quality of life”.
Some of her most treasured memories include getting to sing at the National Cathedral, and winning second in the state in 2019. She has gleaned lots of wisdom and maturity during the last four years, and adds, “I have found that I am really resilient, and I could find success wherever I was”. She has earned many academic scholarships, and is thrilled to see her hard work paying off in such a tangible way. She hopes to attend the University of Alabama (roll tide!), which is in her home state, and where she’s earned additional scholarship funds. Sarah plans to attend medical school, and has not yet decided on the concentration, but I know her kindness and heart will make her such an amazing asset to every patient she will treat in the future. The bold colors and bright spirit of this session capture the wonderful young woman she is. Congratulations, Sarah!
