When I first met Heidi, I knew we would hit it off swimmingly! She has amazing taste in music, and her selected playlist was one of the most unique I’ve heard all season: she listed songs by Elton John, David Bowie, and Fleetwood Mac among her favorites, and it gave me a peek into her fun personality. Heidi is attending Lake Mary High School, and she can’t wait for her commencement in 2020. Until then, she’s keeping busy as part of the mock trial team, the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, and the speech and debate team. She’s also been part of the cheerleading squad and the Youth in Government club in years past. History and politics are just a few of her passions, and she’s displayed these in her volunteer work at the Teen Court for Seminole County Juvenile Justice Center. “Between taking six AP classes, my clubs and extracurriculars, and working part-time at the local movie theater, I don’t have a lot of spare time,” she explained, “but when I do, I like studying and watching politics. I also enjoy reading and traveling,” Cheerleading also holds a special place in her heart as one of her favorite memories from high school.
“My favorite quote is ‘tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming’, which is a David Bowie quote,” she continued, “It really encompasses my discipline and the belief that our future is determined by how we plan for it today!” She hopes her high school peers remember her as someone who was very driven and also compassionate. When she stopped to think about how she might like to capture such an important time in her life, she decided she wanted a natural setting, and that her hair and makeup should be pretty and simple…she really wanted something that represented her accurately. I was eager to bring out her sense of humor, and celebrating her many accomplishments. Heidi brought along a pretty selection of blouses and accessories, and they all accented her casual, elegant sense of style. She likes to find her newest clothing pieces at places like Tilly’s and Pacsun, and says one of her favorite things is her comfy ripped jeans.
Once she graduates, Heidi hopes to knock a few things off her bucket list, including visiting a castle from the Game of Thrones series (she’s a huge fan), attending an Elton John concert, and studying abroad in London. I know her work ethic and drive will take her so far in life! Congratulations, Heidi!
