“The only person in your way is you.” This is one of Amber’s favorite quotes, and I can see why. This girl is confident, strong, and a true go-getter! She’s graduating from Trinity Preparatory High School, in the class of 2020. Currently, she’s shopping around for universities, and is looking at going to University of Florida, Florida State University, Nova Southeastern University, and a number of other schools in Florida. In the meantime, she’s keeping busy with HOSA Future Health Professionals, Environmental Club, and Relaxation Club. She also does track and field, and cheer.
When I asked Amber what her favorite fashion piece is that she owns, she replied with “Bell Bottoms!” If that doesn’t clue you in to Amber’s awesome personality and style, then I don’t know what will! We decided to go for a boho look to her senior session. We took advantage of the great Florida weather, and spent the session outdoors. One of the things that Amber made clear is that she didn’t want to look sweaty, or for her hair to look frizzy. This can always be a challenge in the humidity, but we pulled it off perfectly, as you can see from her session photos below.
I loved her boho-inspired outfits for the session. Her bright orange dress, flowy strapless jumpsuit, and her cropped top with the classic bell bottoms was the perfect range, and showcased Amber’s wonderful personality and gorgeous looks. We took a stroll through the gardens, stopping when we found the perfect spot that captured the mood we were after. Amber loves strolling through places like these, and knows this especially well from her vacations to both Greece and Hawaii. In fact, when I asked her which destination was her favorite, she just couldn’t decide between the two, she loved them both so much!
Once Amber changed into her knockout orange dress, we found an open field to shoot in, with some high grass. I had asked Amber what keeps her going in life – a huge question – and she responded, “What keeps me going is reminding myself everyday that if I want something, I’m going to keep working for it, because I want to reach my goals, no matter if it’s a fitness goal, or academic goal, or a character goal.” This girl is on top of all of these goals, and it’s inspiring to see how she pushes herself to keep going farther.
We made sure to include one of Amber’s passions, cheerleading, in her session, and she looked just stunning in her uniform. I try to focus on natural poses for all of the senior sessions, and that’s something that Amber really loved about her session. She isn’t a fan of photos that look unnatural, or awkward, or dark and overedited. I had handled her friends’ senior sessions in the past, and my focus on being natural was a main factor in bringing Amber my way. I’m so thankful for this, because I loved this session with her! It was a joy to capture her confidence and beauty with my camera.
Congratulations Amber! I wish you all of the best things in life as you keep moving forward.
