One of the things many clients mention when they first meet with me, is how they don’t want to look posed or forced in their photos. It’s a common concern, because no one wants to look like they have a strange, stiff smile or awkward arm positions in one of the most important times in their life! You want to look back on your senior photos and remember the special time in your life, not cringe at what you looked like. It’s why I love working with seniors, and making them feel comfortable and confident. It comes through in every photo, and it’s why they feel special and connected with their images. They are proud to share them! Abby was a natural beauty who needn’t have worried about looking too posed, because she moved so gracefully through every frame! She is part of the Class of 2020, and will be graduating from Lake Mary High School. She is one of the kindest girls I have ever met, and she’s also a very accomplished student as well. She enjoys subjects like English at school, and outside of the classroom, she loves cycling and horseback riding in her spare time. Because of her hard work and dedication at school, she’s already been accepted and admitted to the University of North Florida. “In high school, I learned that the most important thing is that I can’t please everyone”, she explained, “I have to stick to what is true for myself.” I loved capturing her vivacious spirit and joy, and when she shared with me that she enjoys working with children in an early childhood program, I knew she was probably a perfect fit for a job like that! “The memories I’ve made with the children I’ve worked with are some of my favorite ones from high school”, she adds.
When Abby was perusing my portfolio for ideas and inspiration, she shared that she really enjoyed the photos where the faces and smiles were fully in focus, and where there was energy and movement. I knew we would want to capture those things for her session, and our outdoor location was just right. “I envisioned a day full of fun and creativity when I began thinking about my session”, she continued, “I decided to bring lots of fall and winter outfits, with a little touch of summer fun. I love fashion, and everything that comes with shopping, designing and creating. I look up to people like Aaryn Williams, who is a YouTube influencer and makes fashion and design content. She is really inspirational, high-spirited, and positive.” Designing and working with Abby’s shoot was so much fun, and I especially enjoyed her shoot playlist picks: songs from Shawn Mendes, Brett Young, and The Fray made our day even better! The last thing you need to know about this beautiful girl is that she loves, loves LOVES to read. “I love how stories can transport you to a whole new world, and how reading is a one-on-one experience…people can interpret the words in a book in different ways”, she concludes. Next on her bucket list are things like skydiving for the first time, camping on the beach, and getting in plenty of travel.
Congratulations, Abby!
