If you want something out of life you have to go out there and get it,
because it is not just going to be given to you. -Kelvin Waites
The definitions of success vary from student to student, and getting to hear all of them is one of my favorite parts of being a senior photographer! Alyssa is already well on her way to achieving her dreams, and is attending Florida State University. She graduated last year, and getting to watch her spread her wings and head off to college has been an incredible joy for me! I feel a little like a “mama bird” watching “my kids” head off and make their way in the world. I care about each and every one of them. Alyssa attended Lake Mary High School, where she was part of the National Honor Society, and enjoyed studying psychology, and participating in cheer and dance. Although her dance career has ended, she still takes recreational classes at her school, and loves it. She enjoyed her work at Jeremiah’s Italian Ice while in school, and remains passionate about her health and fitness in her life. She really created a ton of memories in her time at the Lake Mary, and one of her favorite memories was celebrating spring break each year. She is the oldest child in her family, and so her graduation was something very special indeed. Alyssa shared with me that her mom is her biggest role model, and she values her honesty and respect for others and hopes to emulate her.
Many of Alyssa’s friends chose me as their senior photographer (yay!), and when she was referred to me, I couldn’t wait to plan and design a shoot that would show off her style and her panache. She found many of her fashionable senior outfits at Pacsun, Fashion Nova, and other online boutiques. She sought beautiful poses and lovely locations, and I couldn’t wait to make it happen! “Something that I’ve learned lately, is that life is too short to be worried about other people’s opinions, and that half the things that you think matter, won’t matter in five years”, she added, “I have a very goofy personality, and even though I have a sense of humor, I’ve really learned that you only live once…that’s one of my favorite quotes. You have to live life to its fullest”. I had such a wonderful time working with this beautiful young lady, and am so glad that she is already finding her feet in her very bright future.
