“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”
That is Sidney’s favorite quote, and it was a beautiful reminder to me to constantly give thanks for the moments in my life. I treasure every senior and junior client that I work with, and although occasionally I am tempted to view it as a just a job, I truly consider it a privilege to work with these young people. I wish I had learned this years ago, when I was Sidney’s age; we are not promised tomorrow, and it really benefits us to make memories right where we are! Sidney adds, “That quote always reminds me to not worry about things that have passed, or things that are yet to occur, too!” That’s a valuable perspective the midst of senior year, which can be very hectic. This smart young lady is graduating from Bishop Moore Catholic School, and she’s just as funny, kind, and beautiful as you’d imagine from these images. She’s part of the ecology club, the guardians club, the leadership team, and the Spanish club, and she’s always looking for new ways to be involved and encourage her fellow students. In fact, it’s her serving heart and love of the community that inspired her to also take on a part time job in a local assisted living facility. She stretches her creative mind and spirit with photography, as well as playing the piano and guitar, when she has some downtime. She has treasured her time at Bishop Moore, and says her favorite memory was the homecoming game during sophomore year.
Her friend Carleigh referred her to me when it came time for these special day, and although Sidney is more used to being the photographer, she had a great time in front of the lens. She has a breezy, cute personal style, and enjoys pieces like cropped tops and off the shoulder blouses (from stores like Forever 21 and Pacsun). When I asked her for a playlist, she was more than happy to oblige, and added, “Music is my greatest passion…While I am no expert with any instrument, it makes me feel alive! I am constantly listening to music from artists like Shawn Mendes and Tyler the Creator”. Sidney is eager to get started on her goals after graduation, which include things like becoming an engineer, learning to ski, and becoming a certified scuba diver. Ultimately this sweet girl wanted a high-quality senior with good lighting, and crisp editing, and I think we accomplished that and more! We had so much fun together, and I think these really show off what a beautiful person she is, inside and out!
