There are some people you have the pleasure of meeting that emanate warmth. They’re few and far between, but when you find them, you always remember them. For a whole family of four to have this same trait says something about them. I’ll remember the Fleming’s for as long as I’m around, and I’m so happy to have the privilege of introducing them to the world! These four wonderful people are Boone, Lee Ann, Reese, and Jackson. Boone and Lee Ann are both native to Florida, and since they got married in 2003, they’ve been in the Winter Park area. Their first home was a condo on Woodcrest Drive, living above Lee Ann’s sister-in-law’s grandmother, Mimi. She fondly remembers Mimi calling Boone downstairs to help her fix things, or set up her television. It was a sweet place to be for the first two years of their marriage. In 2014, they moved to their current home in Winter Park.
Boone attended the University of Florida, and Lee Ann went to Samford University in Birmingham, AL. They both went to the same high school, but didn’t meet until after college. They had Reese ten years ago, and Jackson is eight now. Reese loves to move; she’s taken to doing cartwheels and handstands at random throughout the day, and plays sports, roller-blades, or rides her bike around the neighborhood. Jackson loves running around outside, riding his bike, climbing trees, and likes to play any kind of sports, from football to soccer. They both have a love for music, and are taking piano lessons. They’re often heard arguing about who gets to play first! Mom and dad enjoy playing tennis together, and they try to walk their energetic golden retriever puppy as much as possible. Boone especially likes playing golf and coaching sports. He taught fourth grade for ten years, and he has a gift for coaching and mentoring kids. He serves on the board of directors for Winter Park Babe Ruth, where he coaches softball and baseball, and Upwards Basketball. He also serves as PTA vice president where his kids go to school.
Lee Ann works for Orlando Health, a non-profit healthcare organization situated in their community. Her work life is very mission focused, and she oftentimes serves individuals and their families in their times of greatest need. She faithfully serves her community, and loves doing it. Some of their favorite aspects of their neighborhood are how helpful and friendly everyone is, and how centrally located their street is. They’re charmed by the beautiful oaks that line the streets, and wouldn’t ask for anything more. Much more charming were the Fleming’s, and having the opportunity to do their family portraits was a wonderful experience. They’re a shining example of the how people who love others more than themselves act, and their children are imitating their parent’s example. They attend and serve at Summit Church, and love the diversity and service-oriented attitude there.
I am thoroughly convinced that Winter Park is a taste of heaven on earth. And it’s everyone in it, working together, that makes it that way.
